Hop Talk #47: Georgia(n) Beers!

Another big thanks for Nathan for bringing these four (five if you count the second Wild Leap can) beers for us to have on the show! It was a lot of fun hanging out with him, and he was of course very knowledgeable about the local beer scene down in Georgia. I might miss one here, but besides Cherry Street, Monday Night and Three Taverns, he mentions plenty of other GA breweries: Orpheus, SweetWater, Terrapin (which is no longer craft), Southern, and Variant. Quite a lot down there! He also mentions Fox Brothers BBQ, which I will have to visit whenever I make it down there. I will definitely check out the subreddit before I go too!

The sports conversation at the top of the episode made me wonder about the most popular sports in the world, so I did a quick search and came across this article listing the 11 biggest sports. I can’t exactly confirm the accuracy of this piece but it seems good to me! American Football doesn’t even make the list, it’s #12 apparently. And by the way, the Patriots did win as I so expertly predicted ;)

We briefly touch on a weed/hops connection, and while there’s a lot on that subject (including some special brews I’ve heard of), I’m just going to throw this article here for now if you want to know a bit more.

Definitely check out the Craft Beer & Brewing Magazine Podcast, they do some awesome stuff over there and have some amazing guests! That’ll give you plenty of stuff to listen to in between our own shows - they are 70 episodes deep!

I’m just going to leave this clip from Eddie Murphy here. Have a good week folks!

Our favorites this week:

Blake - Helm’s Deep

Nathan - Helm’s Deep

Forrest - Helm’s Deep

See y’all next week!
